Therapy Intensives
Long-format sessions for focused therapeutic work.
Giving space for a story to unfold.
Therapy Intensives are focused, long-format sessions that aim to accelerate the process of therapeutic work. In an Intensive we have time to get clear on an intention, deeply explore and understand important experiences, and often feel a sense of completion.
Because this is focused work, experiential modalities are main components of the intensives. These tools offer structure that organizes our work and a path into deeper layers of healing and change. Read more about Experiential Work below.
Is an Intensive Right for You?
An intensive may be a good fit if you’re wanting more continuity and depth than weekly sessions typically allow. Some people come in with a specific issue or goal they’re hoping to focus on, while others simply know they need dedicated time and space to explore something more fully. Intensives can also be helpful if you’re already working with another therapist and would like to accelerate or complement your ongoing therapy, or if you feel ready to jump-start progress in a more focused way. This format can stand alone or work alongside existing therapeutic support.
What to Expect
Experiential modalities such as EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Somatic Experiencing support healing by helping you make meaningful contact with your internal world—body sensations, emotional experiences, and unconscious beliefs or learnings that shape how you relate to yourself and others. When these inner experiences are brought into awareness in a supported and regulated way, they can begin to shift. Rather than relying on insight alone or repeatedly retelling your story, this work allows old patterns to soften, nervous system responses to reorganize, and new possibilities for connection, choice, and relief to emerge.
Because each person’s process is unique, the focus and flow of an intensive are shaped by your goals, needs, and nervous system. This format offers room to orient, engage deeply, and transition thoughtfully—without the stop-and-start rhythm that can sometimes make deeper work feel fragmented.
